These Terms govern the use of the Joy Reef portal and related services. By using the service you accept the following.
Beta phase
Joy Reef is currently in beta. Features may change, be suspended or contain errors. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of continuous availability or freedom from defects.
Account use
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend accounts in case of misuse.
DIY hardware
Joy Reef supports do-it-yourself (DIY) and third-party hardware. You are solely responsible for the correct selection, assembly, electrical wiring, power supply and safety of the devices connected to your tank.
Automations and smart plugs
The portal lets you configure automations, rules, ATO (auto top-off) and smart plug control. These functions depend on network connectivity, MQTT telemetry and third-party hardware that can fail. We do not guarantee that an automation will run promptly or correctly in every circumstance.
User responsibility
Automations do not replace human control. You remain responsible for periodically and physically checking the tank, its parameters and devices. Do not use Joy Reef as the sole safety system for situations that could cause harm to people, animals or property.
No guarantee of continuous operation
We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for data loss, damage to the tank, animals or hardware resulting from the use or unavailability of the service.
Reef Champions: contest, prizes and referrals
Reef Champions is a points program with a leaderboard, referrals and prizes. Participation is voluntary. Rules, scores and prizes may be changed or cancelled. We may exclude anyone engaging in fraudulent behaviour.
Service suspension and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the service, even without notice during the beta. We may update these Terms; continued use of the service implies acceptance of the changes.
This document is a preliminary draft for the beta phase and must be legally validated before the final launch.
