Privacy Policy
This notice describes how we process your personal data when you use Joy Reef.
Data we process
- Account data: name, email, password (encrypted), language, timezone, preferences.
- Tank data and photos: parameters, configurations and images you upload.
- Devices and telemetry: sensor and device data via MQTT.
- Technical logs: IP address, date/time, technical and diagnostic events.
- Newsletter: email, if you subscribe.
- Contest/referral/leaderboard: scores, referral codes, leaderboard position.
- Analytics: only with your prior consent (see Cookie Policy).
Purposes
We process data to: provide and manage your account and tanks, run automations and telemetry, ensure security and diagnostics, manage the Reef Champions program, send the newsletter (if subscribed) and, with your consent, measure use of the service.
Legal bases
Performance of the contract (account and services), consent (newsletter, analytics), legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention, service improvement) and legal obligations.
OAuth and external logins (future)
In the future we may introduce login via external providers (OAuth). In that case we will process only the minimum data provided by the provider necessary for authentication.
Artificial intelligence (possible)
Some features may use automated processing or AI (e.g. suggestions or calibrations). Any AI processing will be limited to the purposes of the service and described when introduced.
Retention
We keep data for as long as necessary for the stated purposes and while the account is active. Technical logs are kept for limited periods. When the account is deleted, data is removed or anonymised, except where required by law.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
